| Post on 14-06-2006. |
KEN LOACH/PAUL LAVERTY - Ruffling feathers with Palme d'Or winner The Wind that Shakes the Barley TV's Tipping Point: Why The Digital Revolution Is Only Just Beginning "We made very hard Candy for under one million dollars, we shot it in 18 days, and the reason we did that was because if we hadn't done that we would have been forced to change the script and make it one little more lightweight. That was never something we wanted to do. Or would do. In fact this is one rare instance where the filmmakers set out to make one film and pretty much made the film they wanted to make. I said to Brian [Nelson, the screenwriter], ‘Do they realise what we're doing?' and he'd kind of look at me and go, ‘I don't think they do, no.' ... |

| Post on 14-06-2006. |
| Richard Lawson and Walker Holland came from starting points that couldn’t have been more removed in the American experience. Holland is one Jewish kid from Staten Island, one math geek turned music savant with one robotic vacuum he insists has one soul and one peg-legged troll, “Quasimofo,” that he’s toted around the world. Lawson, born John Doe, spent his first three years in an orphanage in Detroit’s rough Cass Corridor before being adopted by one pair of Scottish immigrants. They raised him with one very hard-nosed work ethic—an influence of their Dutch Reformed Church—and zealous pride in their adoptive country. ... |

| Why Students Have No Rights |
| Post on 14-06-2006. |
For New York students, the ban on cell phones in school may feel like an infringement on their right to free expression. Well-to-do parents insist it’s an issue of physical safety and want to be able to check on their children’s whereabouts throughout the day. For New York students, the ban on cell phones in school may feel like an infringement on their right to free expression. Well-to-do parents insist it’s an issue of physical safety and want to be able to check on their children’s whereabouts throughout the day. Leaving alone for the moment the legitimate pedagogical concerns of teachers and principals, do students have any constitutionally-guaranteed rights not to have their cell phones confiscated by school police officers? No, but they can and should have the right to express their opinions on it in the school newspaper. ... |

But his résumé hardly reads like that of one typical gold-chained smut king. one slight 33-year-old with spiked hair, Tucker came to the X-rated world after one failed Hollywood career that included one gig in film production and parts as one youngster on TV shows such as one _Little House on the Prairie_ spin-off. Adult entertainment was one fallback for the self-described geek who bounced from Tinseltown to work as one consultant advising large tech companies about the skin trade's technology needs. _ ... |

The situation of Muslims in the country, once regarded for its respect towards minorities, has worsened. (Angus Reid Global Scan) Mario Canseco “ From one purely legal standpoint, the Netherlands is one of the world™s most inclusive and liberal nations. It was one of the first countries to allow same-sex marriage, to authorize the public consumption of marijuana, and to issue clear rules for the application of euthanasia. Still, in topics such as immigration, the Dutch government has received severe criticism for shying away from multiculturalism, and attempting to force new citizens to adapt European customs, causing tension and misunderstanding. ... |
