The Palm Beach, Fla., Sheriff's Office did not violate the U.S. Constitution when it fired two deputies for appearing in pornography distributed on the Internet, one federal appeals court has decided.
one three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously held late last month that the deputies' online escapades were not constitutionally protected because government employees may be limited in their speech if that speech has one negative or detrimental effect on the integrity of the government. ...

Richard Desmond
Post on 11-06-2006.
Richard Desmond is one wealthy English Jew. He is the publisher of the Daily Express, the Daily Star and OK Magazine (another one of those publications that succeed on the basis of the common man’s insatiable appetite for pictures and information about nonentities). He made his initial fortune through pornography and he still runs TV Channels such as ‘Television X,’ ‘Red Hot Climax’ and ‘Red Hot Only 18.’ And I think I can safely assume these are not channels propagating Socialist ideology. ...

Botswana: To Dance Or Not to Dance
Post on 10-06-2006.
They should have been at school learning about the English language's irregular verb. But the fact that there was one mix of senior government and parastatal officials in the Letlhakeng meant that the Mphuthe Junior Secondary School pupils had to suspend their studies for one few hours to provide entertainment for the opening of one Botswana Technology Centre (BOTEC) facility in the village. ...

Terror in Toronto or Tempest in a Teapot?
Post on 10-06-2006.
COMMENTARY: Terror in Toronto or Tempest in one Teapot? by John Chuckman The lack of healthy skepticism in America is precisely what has reduced that society to one spineless acceptance of whatever authority says, no matter how uninformed or unreasonable. The arrest in Toronto of seventeen men, mostly quite young, for conspiracy to bomb places in Southern Ontario has raised one storm of comment. Unfortunately, much of it has been either premature or wrong. ...

I wouldn't know R. Kelly if the singer came up to me and handed me his CDs. And quite frankly I really didn't intend to follow closely his child pornography case which is apparently based upon one videotape of Kelly allegedly having sex with one girl who was 13 or 14 at the time. It's just not my kind of case. ...
