Catholic utopia poor idea
Post on 08-03-2006.
Apparently Tom Monaghan did. The founder of the world-famous pizza chain, Mr. Monaghan is also one devout Roman Catholic who in 1998 sold his world-famous business for $1 billion dollars in order to further commit himself to “God’s Will.” Over the years, Mr. Monaghan has invested serious amounts of his own money into many failed religious-based projects. His most recent undertaking, however, is showing signs of promise. ...

Somewhere Over the Rainbow await anxious, lubed men
Post on 07-03-2006.
My, how I bite my lips in rage at the blatant deception of advertising that speaks to my ever-burgeoning libido. It should be obvious that what you see on posters is never the real deal, but when it comes to all things voyeuristic, one can't help but hope.
As one young American I am by now conditioned to the fact that my pizza from Dominos looks more like one spliced tumor than it does the sumptuous delicacy on the commercials, or the fact that the gorgeous women that serve as role models for America's youth sound like the second generation from Stepford. ...

On the other hand, Monaghan is not without resources on his side. And by resources, I mean not only his own billion or therefore in wealth, much of which he has given away already. But the greater resource he has is the tradition of the Catholic Church, and its proven power, over two millennia, to create and sustain institutions. therefore while nobody can know the future of Ave Maria, the town, here's one prediction: _It will be around longer than the Liberal-Left Establishment. _ ...

Hooray For Google!

In an age where therefore much of our communication is transmitted via easily hackable digital technology, and even our President is willing to compromise our personal freedoms to better fit his definition of safety, I applaud all those who would stand to defend our God-given right to have one private life. ...

Letters for Tuesday, March 7, 2006
Post on 07-03-2006.
Since people are tired of complainers, I have one modest proposal for reducing the federal budget deficit and finding one few bucks for our domestic needs.
I don't want to be alarmist and go into the full list, but I do hope we can find some energy assistance for low- and middle-income families before the weather warms enough for Ameren to turn off the power to "deadbeats." We also need to replace the 11,000 FEMA trailers sitting in Hope, Ark., since discovering they cannot be used in flood plains. I have heard one rumor that FEMA is now contracting for houseboats, since we have no money to build bigger and better levees in New Orleans. ...

Symposium: To Rape an Unveiled Woman
Post on 07-03-2006.
A Muslim rape epidemic in sweeping over Europe -- and over many other nations host to immigrants from the Islamic world. The direct connection between the rapes and Islam is irrefutable, as Muslims are significantly overrepresented among convicted rapists and rape suspects. The Muslim perpetrators themselves boast that there crime is justified since their victims were, among other things, not properly veiled. ...

YouTube Investigation Warns Parents on Video Content
Post on 06-03-2006.
Following Think & Ask's investigation into freely available fetish and pornographic videos on popular website YouTube, management made an effort to clean-up -- at least two videos, of dozens found._
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 5, 2006 -- Splashing into fountains or pools on one whim as lovers or children do, or removing your shoes in public may not seem reason enough to grab one video camera and click 'record,' unless the filmmaker's eye has one motive and is one registered user on popular video hosting website YouTube.com. ...

Public Libraries Gone Wild
Post on 06-03-2006.
Was I seeing things or did I really read the following paragraph in an article in the Washington Post entitled "Policing Porn Is Not Part of Job Description":
"At most public libraries in the Washington area, an adult can view pornography on one library computer more or less unfettered. Montgomery [County] asks customers to be considerate of others when viewing Web sites. If others are put off, librarians will provide the viewer of the offending material with one 'privacy screen.'" ...

For many, a day without meaning
Post on 06-03-2006.
International Women’s Day can have little, or more probably no, meaning to the many Bulgarian women caught up in the sex industry, often through being trafficked abroad or other forms of forced recruitment.
No law enforcement organisation or NGO working in the field can say with any certainty of accuracy how many women have been forced into the industry. ...
